A note on compensation:
I'm only able to consider work and publishing opportunities for which I'd be paid a specified rate (I include advances against royalties in this category); profit-sharing or spec work will not be considered. I've got personal projects to occupy my attention should I be in a position to take on work without surety of payment, and, while I certainly do my absolute best with any project that I decide to undertake and try to pour as much of my heart and soul into it as I'm able, non-personal projects (i.e. anything someone brings to me) are there to pay the bills.

COMICS & GRAPHIC NOVELS:
What kind of comics projects are you best suited for?
Historical fiction, nonfiction history, and adventure stories tend to be where I have the most fun and do my best work.
Are you available for comics cover work?
I am generally available for cover art. Please contact me via e-mail (on contact page) with the project details.
Are you available to do art for a comic/graphic novel?
Probably not. I tend to plan my bigger projects well in advance, and mostly prefer to write my own comics, or work with collaborators who I know well. "Probably" doesn't mean never, however, and small-scale projects are sometimes on the table, particularly if they pay well (taking on smaller good-paying jobs allows me more flexibility in determining my longer projects). If you're with a book publisher and are interested in discussing a project, please reach out to my literary agent, Charlie Olsen (charlie@inkwellmanagement.com).
Are you available to write for a comic?
Possibly! If you're with a direct market publisher, please contact me via the e-mail address on my contacts page with the details of the project; if you're with a book publisher, please contact my agent, Charlie Olsen (charlie@inkwellmanagement.com).
Are you available to write and draw a short story or issue of a comic/anthology/etc?
I might be, depending on the scope of the project and my schedule. If this is a direct market publication, please contact me via the e-mail on my contact page; if it is for the book market, please contact my agent, Charlie Olsen (charlie@inkwellmanagement.com).
I'm interested in foreign language rights for one of your books.
I control the foreign language rights for Outlaw's ApprenticeThe Crogan Adventures, and any art books and sketchbooks. Please contact my agent, Charlie Olsen (charlie@inkwellmanagement.com), if you're interested in any of those titles.
For other foreign language rights, contact the publisher of the book in question.
FILM, TELEVISION, & VIDEO GAMES:
What kind of work are you best suited for?
Production design, especially at early stages of a project. Environments, props, costumes, some layout. I've got experience with historical research for projects and enjoy working on historical stuff. I feel like I'm best suited to historical and fantasy settings, or science fiction that leans towards organic forms (i.e. Star Wars rather than Star Trek), especially with environments. Lots of experience with European medieval stuff, nautical and pirate stuff, early American historical stuff, American wild west, ancient Near East, Biblical stuff, ancient Greece, Greek mythology, Rome, Roman Empire stuff, 19th century Africa, early 20th century China, Norse mythology, North American folklore (monsters and lumberjacks and such).
Are you available for design/story work?
It depends on the scope of the project and my schedule, but I'm generally available for production and design work if I can work (mostly) remotely. I prefer to work freelance, but would consider limited crew work for a project I'm excited about if either I can work remotely, or if the duration of in-person is reasonably limited; no interest in relocating permanently (would consider temporary relocation for outside-the-US productions if family can accompany). Please feel free to contact me via e-mail if you think I'd be a good fit for what you're doing.
BOOK & MAGAZINE ILLUSTRATION:
What kind of illustration work are you best suited for?
I've got experience in and enjoy drawing historical subjects, fantasy, folklore/myth/religion, and spooky stuff. I can do interiors illustrations, cover work, and diagrams and cutaways (like a castle or a ship, etc). I work both digitally and traditionally (ink and watercolor), depending on the needs of a project.
Are you available for illustration work?
I'm generally available for illustration work, depending on the scope of the project and my schedule. If you think I'd be a good fit for your project, please contact my agent, Charlie Olsen (charlie@inkwellmanagement.com). I'm usually not available for editorial illustration because I'm usually juggling multiple projects and can't plan for the turnaround between assignment and delivery that such jobs usually require.
POSTERS/BOOK COVERS/MUSIC & MOVIE PACKAGING
What kind of work are you best suited for?
If you want to incorporate the text and the art in a way that you feel will reflect the project, that's my wheelhouse. Likeness no trouble on movie and music stuff. Please see some of my posters to get a sense as to how I handle this kind of thing.
Are you available for poster/etc work?
I'm generally available for poster or packaging work, depending on the scope of the project and my schedule.
BOARD GAMES/CARD GAMES
What kind of work are you best suited for?
Historical and fantasy stuff, for the most part. I can do characters, boards, locales, etc. On the historical/folklore side, lots of experience drawing European medieval stuff, Norse mythology, nautical and pirate stuff, early American historical stuff, American wild west, ancient Near East, Biblical stuff, ancient Greece, Greek mythology, Rome, Roman Empire stuff, 19th century Africa, early 20th century China, American folklore (monsters and lumberjacks and such).
Are you available for game art?
I'm generally available to do art for games, depending on the scope of the project and my schedule. Please contact me via the e-mail on my contacts page if you think I'd be a good fit for a given project.
